COOKIE POLICY

Definition of cookies

Cookies are small text files sent by the website and downloaded to the user’s device (usually to the browser) where they are stored to be then retransmitted to the website that originated them (first-party cookies) or to another site that recognizes them (third-party cookies) upon the next visit by the same user. Precisely thanks to cookies, a site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as, for example, login data, the chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be indicated again when the user returns to visit said site or navigates from one page to another within it. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser and is stored, according to the user’s preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone), allowing a website to recognize the user’s device. Some operations could not be performed without the use of cookies, which in certain cases are therefore technically necessary for the very functioning of the site. It is intended to refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply using the term “cookie”.

Purposes of processing and purposes of cookies

The cookies used on the web are intended to perform computer authentications, session monitoring, and storage of technical information regarding the activities of users accessing a site, and may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking the user’s navigation within the site itself for statistical or advertising purposes. Some operations on the web could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in such cases are therefore technically necessary and essential to allow effective navigation through web pages, remember favorite sites, and, in general, improve the navigation experience. Cookies indeed allow the web server to store information on the device to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies: they remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed) or also in subsequent visits by the user (persistent cookies: they survive the closing of the browser and remain on the user’s device until a pre-established expiration date).

Pursuant to the Provision on the identification of simplified procedures for information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies of May 8, 2014, and subsequent clarifications, based on the characteristics and use of cookies, two macro-categories are identified: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. Technical cookies, for the installation of which the prior consent of users is not required, are essential to allow browsing a website and using all its features. In other words, these are cookies essential to ensure normal navigation or necessary to allow the use of the site itself (such as, for example, Internet Protocol address (IP), browser type and parameters of the device used to connect to the site, name of the internet service provider (ISP), date and time of visit, web page of origin of the visitor (referral) and exit page, number of clicks); a cookie of this type is also used to store a user’s decision on the use of cookies on the website. Technical cookies include: navigation or session cookies (they allow, for example, making a purchase or authenticating to access restricted areas or, simply, storing a user’s decision on the use of cookies on the site); analytical cookies (or performance cookies) assimilated to technical cookies where used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, for statistical purposes (on access or the number of users and how they visit the site itself or which pages are most frequently visited) to improve its functioning; functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same.

Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are used (by way of explanation only, since the site www.vinext.it does not use them) to create profiles relating to users during navigation and are aimed at analyzing their movements, viewing or consumption habits (what they buy, what they read, etc.) as well as storing the choices they make on the site and/or the services that are expressly requested, in order to guarantee increasingly advanced services aimed at publishing personalized content (such as, for example, advertising banners, images, videos, etc.) targeted to a user and their interests or to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same within the scope of web browsing. Due to the particular invasiveness that such devices can have within the private sphere of users, the use of said cookies involves the prior acquisition of the user’s informed consent through the banner visible to them.

Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies are cookies set directly by managers of different sites or web servers (used for purposes proper to said third parties) which, during navigation on this site, the user might receive on their device. This happens because elements may be present on the site such as, for example, images, maps, specific links to web pages of other domains residing on servers different from the one on which the requested web page is located. Such cookies can be sent to the user’s browser by third parties directly from their websites (which can be accessed by navigating from the site) and fall under the responsibility of said third parties. The use of third-party cookies involves the prior acquisition of the user’s informed consent through the banner visible to them on this website.

An example is represented by “third-party cookies” used to personalize advertising display according to the user’s interest and the frequency of exposure to the message (advertisers, by way of indication, could use their own cookies to collect information on the activities carried out by users on the website and use this information also to measure the effectiveness of their advertising) or by the presence of “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, whose most common use is aimed at sharing content on social networks. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by the aforementioned sites and integrated into the page of the host site: the presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. From the moment the user clicks on any icons of the social networks themselves, they are directed to the respective sites and receive cookies from them that are not under the control of the Data Controller. The management of third-party cookies, as well as the management of information collected by third parties, is governed by the relevant “cookie policies” to which you are requested to refer. To ensure greater transparency, the updated links to the respective information notices containing the procedures for managing cookies are shown below:

No use is made of cookies for user profiling, nor are other tracking methods employed on this website. As regards third-party cookies, our site includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”): the information generated by third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies) is transmitted to Google Inc. and deposited at its servers. Google Analytics uses “cookies” to collect and analyze in anonymous form information on website usage behaviors (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it for the purpose of compiling reports for operators regarding the activities on the websites themselves. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google’s analysis tool to monitor or to collect personal identification information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google nor does it try to link an IP address with the identity of a user: in this regard, reference should appropriately be made to the information notices published on Google’s site https://www.google.com/intl/it/policies/privacy/. Google may also communicate this information to third parties where this is required by law or where such third parties process the aforementioned information on behalf of Google. Refusing and blocking cookies

The majority of Internet browsers are initially set to accept cookies automatically. This means that the user has the possibility, at any time, to set their browser to accept all cookies, only some, or to refuse them, disabling their use by websites. Preferences relating to cookies, in terms of authorization, blocking, or deletion (in whole or in part) must be set separately for each browser, as each offers specific features and options. Furthermore, you can normally set your browser preferences to be notified every time a cookie is stored on your device. Finally, at the end of each navigation session, it is possible to delete the collected cookies from the device’s hard drive. Total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise, in whole or in part, the use of site features reserved for users, the viewing of content, and the usability of related services: inhibiting functionality cookies may in fact mean that some services or certain functions of the site are not available or do not function correctly. Disabling third-party cookies, on the other hand, does not affect navigation on this website in any way.

Your preferences regarding cookies will need to be reset if you use different devices or browsers to access the website. Browsers also allow you to define different settings for “first-party” cookies and for “third-party” cookies.
